New Zealand Falcon Returns
We have once again being graced with the native Karearea nesting on the golf course. This year they have selected a tree between the 7th fairway and 8th forward tee to settle, right at the base of the tree you will see the nest if you look closely from a distance.
The greenkeepers have done their best to rope off the path on the 8th hole so we require all golfers to head to the right of the 8th hole when playing. Areas have also been roped off on the 7th hole too so please stay as far right as possible.
We acknowledge the falcons are closer to the playing area than in previous years so we will be monitoring the situation closely so we do not aggravate their nest.
As in previous years please follow the usual suggested safety measures.
- DO NOT enter the roped area.
- Put your umbrella up when in the area
- DO NOT swing your club at the birds
- Take caution in this area and around the toilets at the 8th
